HUMP MEMORIALS

A number of memorials to the HUMP operation and the gallant aircrews that traversed the Himalayas are now in existance; at least three in the U.S., and two in China. The three in the U.S. are located at the Air Force museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio, and at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. One of the Chinese memorials is located in Kunming, and another in Nanjing.  The memorial in Nanjing is inscribed with the names of all of the known Allied aviators killed or missing on the HUMP or in China.
