The Air Force Museum Hump MemorialThe Air Force Museum memorial was the result of efforts by members of the CBI Hump Pilots Association. It is dedicated to all who served in China, Burma, and India as part of the operation and is highlighted by a large "rock" that was obtained from the Himalaya ridge along the route from India to China. The rock was obtained with the help and cooperation of the Chinese government. In an interesting aside, a portion of the rock had to be cut off for mounting on the memorial. The portion that was removed was pulverized into gravel which was then sealed in lucite blocks. Thus, many humpsters now own a piece of the rock pile that they flew over during the war.
